Aamir Khan Ghajini
A great romantic movie….(but thats about it)
Ghajini is one of the sweetest romantic movies ive seen in recent times. Yes, You read it correct, ROMANTIC.The entire romantic track between Asin and Aamir Khan has been superbly directed. It is funny, endearing and the chemistry is great. Full marks to Asin, and Aamir who delivers his by now stock expressions ( read: licking his lower lip, giving a naughty smile and welling up his eyes with tears). Mush Mush. The hankies come out in the aisles.
Now for the not-so-good part. Ghajini fails on the serious parts of the movie, which were supposed to be its strength. The fights are just too fantastic to comprehend. You can understand Hrithik Roshan in Krissh doing it, but Aamir is still just a normal 5 feet 4 inch human being !! The villain isn’t menacing enough and does not instill fear or hatred within you.
The climax is too long, too predictable and too boring. So is the end of the movie. And Aamir goes over the top in at least 3 scenes with his screaming. The songs other than Guzarish and Kaise Mujhe are ordinary.
Overall, Ghajini scores over memento just because of the emotional current created with Asin’s brilliant performance. I felt sort of cheated, but then maybe I expect too much from an Aamir Khan movie.
