Best Non English rock song

Best Non English rock song
A rock number is a rock number, regardless of its language..

so come lets through some light on best rock songs which are not in English language..
I am sure the legendary German Cult group Rammstein among one of the best non- english rocks..otherwise who else would call their music Industrial Rock..
Du-hast/ ich Will/ Buck Dich / Engel are very popular in itself.. but if possible try ur hands on Dalai Lama..
and finally one of my personal favorites is a Bengali rock band called Fossils..
now many of you must not have heard em, but their first album “millennium”(2002) was an instant hit and sells like a hot cake even today in cal…
their live performances may not be as attractive, but their originals are breathtaking( well… most of them..)
mainly their songs are based on love/denial/drugs/illusion/crime and lust.. they have churned out quite a few interesting ballad numbers as well..
‘jannat jahan’ from jannat was a song sung by the Fossil frontman rupam Islam himself..
try to google down them if interested…

Journey to the Centre of the Earth

Journey to the Centre of the Earth

Dont expect too much, this definitely isnt in the league of Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Brendan Fraser holds the whole movie together, putting in a much better performance than Mummy 3.The special effects are coll but I guess they were really meant to be enjoyed in 3 D.

The kid is likable, but the female lead could have been a bigger star…

A simple fun movie, leaves not much to complain about !

Rating : 3/5

Righteous Kill

Righteous Kill

Slammed by critics worldwide, this one isnt so bad !! Robert de Niro and Al Pacino are good enough reasons for me to go see a movie, regardless of the script.

A thriller ( with very few thrilling moments) set within the NYPD, it tells the story of two cops (partners) given the case of a serial killer to solve. The tempo then builds up as clues keep cropping up that guide (misguide) us towards the identity of the serial killer.

I admit the movie is slow. But if you like slow, languid cinema, you will relish this pace.

For all you action junkies, this one is no Dark Knight.

Rating : 3 stars

PS: Watch out for the close up shots of Pacino !! He still has it !

RUSSIAN ARK

russian-ark.jpg  RUSSIAN ARK

Remember Hitchcock’s 1948 thriller ROPE?? What was so special about that film is that it all looked as if shot in “One Take” (for the beginners - “One Take” means watching a movie without any intercuts!!)… But Hitchcock then could not shoot it in “One Take” as he had to change the Reel in the camera after every 8 mins of filming… So he tried to act smart with the edits, which still made the film look like a Long “One Take” movie… But he had limited actors in the story, so the film still was achievable then…

We’ve also seen Long “One Take scenes” in other films like ATONEMENT (5 and half min scene with about 1000 people), LA VIE EN ROSE (About 5 mins), THE PLAYER (About 8 mins opening credits scene), IRREVERSIBLE (Every scene was one shot - Highest being around 15-16 mins), CHILDREN OF MEN (5-6 mins) etc etc…

So what makes Russian director Alexander Sokurov’s “RUSSIAN ARK” so special??

The tagline says it all - “2000 Actors, 3 Live Orchestras, 33 Rooms at the Hermitage Museum, 300 years of Russian History, ALL IN ONE TAKE!”

And we’ve not counted the technicians here yet, which was an army within itself…

Yes u heard it right… RUSSIAN ARK is the first ever feature film made in a single take… 1 Single Continuous Shot of over 90 mins Screen time!!

Russian Ark was filmed on a HD camera (High definition Digital Camera) so there was only one long, single, continous filming of the story. It was filmed absolutely in real time, the onscreen time and the time it took to film are one and the same. And obviously this is the only film ever made, which did not need an Editor!!

Swindled

Swindled

Was just browsing thru channels last night and came across this movie just by chance,

A short view about this movie would be a nice con thriller, wouldn’t say it is one of the best con movies i have seen, though much of things shown in the movie were believable.

There were few moments where you would ask “Arrey yeh kya hua, kaise hua” But as said, har cheez ke peechay logic hona zaroori toh nahi hain na!

Worth a watch. a 3/5 movie.

The Bow - Korean

The Bow (Korean)

the dvd says “A Story of an old man and a young girl”…this film i am sure will keep you engrossed from the first frame itself….

not many dialouges but the screenplay and the treatment is something which is brilliant….though the end is left on the viewers intelligence….

but a good one…the girl and the old man perform too well…

it really made me think for a long time and then i had to convince my self with a reason which looked justified to me….lets discuss wen sum1 sees it
