one of the most awaited movie of the year… like black n white…
but again a disappointment….

hopes were high….

but what happened god better knows….

now bout the performance…

but movie doesnt run by performances…
the fuel required is power packed story….

first half was fantastic…i toh thought k paisa wasool….
even second half started with a big bang….
but agter abhisheks death… movie down n down n down….

post Jr. AB death amitabh’s one dialougue… then ash one tear then two minutes of silence then a scene… story was ok ok…. but screenplay toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo…..o.o.o..o .. slow…

P.J. of the movie…. yaar in the entire movie all were shouting govinda govinda govinda,,, but where the hell was he in the movie… govinda must sue RGV.. for promoting movies by his name…

Dai Fahad macha…what new movies have come out since May of last year, da? I haven’t seen any since then. I heard Rang De Basanti is good. What else has come out that’s really good? Pls. update me on this regularly, if you can.

today here an interesting film released Kamal Haasan’s “Desavatharam“. i think it’s the most expensive film ever made in India. not only that, the most number of characters played by a single person in a single film ever till date. Kamal doing ten roles. everyone one is curious about the plot. the grapevine has it that the film starts from 12the century and ends in the modern times. in trivandrum it’s very difficult to get the ticket for one week. i’ve seen the teasers, on par with Hollywood films. it’s yet to be seen if the hype is a part of marketing strategy or if real meat is there. since it’s from Kamal, i suppose it’d be worth watching.

mere to atleast bahut kaam ki hia..
Bhawai Bhawai is an excellent movie i mean naseer is simply outstanding …and YEs ruka hua faisla is another well made movie…

I also liked mandi, Bazaar and MAtrubhumi…amazingly well made movies…i mean the way that they bring out the concerned issues is worth watching…especially MAtrubhumi is pathetically the most amazing movie that I have ever seen…..

Vaise i aslo liked the movie GHAR (Vinod mehra and Rekha) for a change the movie wan’t filmy and was made with i believe the simplest story…

Remember KAKKA JI KAHIN by OM PURI
Om Puri excelently acted as an eastern U.P. based political chamcha type character having relations with poltical leaders…saying time to time ” ETTHO PHUNWA GHUMAI DEIB DILLI MA TO SAB KAAM HUI JAI” and “HALOOOOOOO” on phone
and the way he used to laugh ,opening his mouth as wide as he could was very funny HA HA HA HA in lil intervals esp at the end of the serial….and based on this an ad was also shown later for Britania circus biscuit….in which Om puri in the same getup was laughing in the same way . Anyone remember?
yeah i remember kakkaji kahin…. om puri was superb in the serial. used to keep chewing betel all the time. i think it was aired on fridays and yes i remember the cartoon of om puri tht used to come at the start of the serial…
Initially, the serial was named as Netaji Kahin. But by the apprehension of attracting the wrath of the politicians, it was later changed to Netaji Kahin. Since those were good old DD days when Mandy House reigned supreme, the fear was not entirely baseless.
That serial used to make apt comments on the policticians w/o naming or ressembling to anyone in particular. Good one !!!

Sheerin Farhad was the second Hindi Film , released on may 31,1931(First one was released on 14 march 1931,).
Atotal of 24 films was released this year: 17 of them was produced in Mumbai and rest in calcutta.
Two ”Shakuntla’ was produced this year.the ‘Shakuntla’ produced in kolkata has 42 songs.
In 1932 a total of 60 film were released this year produced in Mumbai, kolkata ,kohapur , pune, lahore Hyderabad.

Multilingual Films
It took 18 years to convert first silence film into talkie.

However it took just one year more for first multilingual film.the film was Ayodhya ka raja(hindi)/ Ayodhyacha raja(marathi) , based on the mythological story of HARISHCHANDRA TARAMATI. Interestingly the first movie (as is believed but this was not the first, I am still searching for the detail, ) made in India Raja Harishchandra(by Dada saheb falke 1913……….)

This film was made in 1932 by Prabhat films of Pune and directed and edited by the great V Shantaram. Munshi Ismael farookh(Hindi) and N V Kulkarni (marathi) was the Dialogue writers.story was written by N V Kulkarni.
Govinda rao tembe and Durga khote plaed the lead role.
Govinda Rao tembe , the disciple of great classical singer Alladiya khan of atraulli gharana of Algarh also scored the music.

however, this was not his( Full Name RAJARAM VANKUDRE SHANTARAM) first film as director. he was active in the film industry since 1921 (and till 1986) and many FIRST thing in the Film Industry is credited to him!
He was a producer , director ,editor, Actor , singer,music director , writer at the same time.The first real showman of Indian Cinema!

Dr Kotnis ki Amar kahani(1946) is one of the finest film of pre independence era , directed and acted by him.Vasant Desai scored the music in this film And the song MAIN HOON NANHI NAYEE DULHAN was the popular number, sung by HIs wife Jaishree.
Even the first film made in three language was directed by V shantaram and produced by him. The film was SAIRANDHRI(1933) and this was made in Hindi , Marathi and Telugu.
This Film was also The First Colour Film!Another FIRST FOR V SHANTARAM!
