Good melodies from 90s
Starting a long awaited thread.
Many of us(read joone purane fans)
aren’t aware of the presence of melodious songs in
lost treasure/junk/garbage(strike whicever is not applicable)
of HFM. Many of us don’t dare to listen to those obscure tracks
My Pick for today……
“Jab haal -e -dil tumse keh ne ko mein mil ne aati hoon…
par dekh tera diwana-pan mein soch mein pad jaati hoon….”
Film : Salami [1992]
Singer : Alka Yagnik.
Music : Nadeem-shravan

Salami is also popular for
“Tumhe chhede hawa chanchal”-a soft melody.
The trend of HFM changed after release of “Maine pyar kiya”
Return of melody in films after 1990 can be credited to
Raam Laxman. Existence of sleazy and kaan-phadu shorgul
couldn’t be eliminated though. Changing equations gave rise to
new music companies and new talents. Sonu Nigam can be
identified as the “Khoj of 90s”. He too had to wait till end of 90s till the release of “Border-Sandese aate hain” to get the status ofregular playback singer of Bollywood. Another name came into limelight”Sunidhi Chauhan”. With “Ruki ruki-Mast” she immediately climbed up thel er of playback singing. Sonu didn’t get much benefit from popularity of
“Ruki ruki” neither the composer Sandeep Chowta the debutant in
Hindi Fillum Music.HFM saw many MDs during the period 1990-1999.
Few of those didn’t get recognistion like
“Jugal Kishore Tilak Raj-one film/one song sensation”
enjoyed for composing “Janam janam ka saath hai”
