School songs
Does anyone remember all the words of our school song (”Naayamatma balaheenena labhya”, not Nalini Kumaran’s “ho ho” version)?
Also, what were the staple prayer songs in the senior school assembly (there were just 2-3 which would be sung day in and day out… out in the field, in the auditorium, over the PA system…)? One was “Aalokit karo”…what were the others?
in junior school i think the fav prayer was, “prabhuji tum chandan hum paani”. then came “tere charno mein”
the rythm and flavour seem to be lost when we moved from junior to senior, shanky did his best to give the worst!!!
frankly as on this moment i dnt remember any other prayer
I thought our school song went something like this :
“we are the children of modern school
god bless us and god bless the school
we are stars we will shine ….”
and so on and so on .. i dont remember the rest.. wasnt that it? 
Nalini Kumaran’s “We are the children of Modern School” was a real riot. I definitely prefer Shanky’s song over all of NK’s “we will make the whole world beautiful, ho ho” nonsense!
